10 TIPS & TRICKS TO AVOID SPLIT ENDS - LISA PERRY HAIRSTYLES

1. Learn to work second day hair.
Washing hair every other day allows the body to repair hair with its own natural oils leaving your hair silky smooth and protected.

2. Brush wisely and correctly.
For daily brushing, choose a cushioned paddle brush with bristles. Always brush from root to end.

3. Shampoo only your scalp.
Let hair hang down normally and simply lather shampoo onto your scalp, then let the ends of your hair experience the 'second hand suds' as your rinse the shampoo through your hair.

4. Condition your ends.
ALWAYS use conditioner. Be sure to apply conditioner directly to the ends of your hair and then give it a couple of minutes to soak in. When you rinse your hair, don't completely rinse it dry of the conditioner.

5. Towel drying.
Do not scrub and rub a towel every which way on and through your hair! Instead, wrap a towel around your hair and simply squeeze different areas to draw moisture out.

6. Wide tooth combs with wet hair.
Invest in a wide tooth comb for us on your shower-fresh hair to lightly glide through hair and loosely manage your locks without causing as much breakage.

7. Blow drying.
If your blow dryer is to be the only heat styling tool used, do your best to avoid placing direct heat on hair ends until it is absolutely necessary. If another form of heat styling will follow your blow drying efforts, do your best to avoid direct contact with ends all together.

8. Straightener.
While straightening the hair, ALWAYS use a brush or comb to guide to prevent straightening a strand of hair in a creased or bent position.

9. Curling.
Instead of beginning the curl at the ends of your hair and winding all the way up, begin at your roots and guide hair through the curling iron as you twist up. This way, ends will only take in as much heat as needed to hold the style.

10. Trims.
Proper care will allow you to stretch trim appointments to every 6 to 8 weeks - maybe longer! Just keep watch. If you notice a random split end along the way, grab a pair of scissors and take care of it right then.

LISA PERRY HAIRSTYLES TESTIMONIALS

During my 6 years living in Arlington/Downtown Dallas the only person I felt comfortable doing my hair was Lisa! When I first moved to DFW in 2007 I was having a difficult time finding someone who I trusted with my hair. (Back home I had seen the same girl for most of my life). One day I was told to pay a visit to Lisa Perry. I am more than glad I did. She has seen me through my blonde (when I met her) and my brunette (what I am now) phases. I grew up with naturally blonde hair but as I have gotten older it has continued to get darker. She kept up with keeping me blonde and it looked great and so natural. And when I finally decided to cave and go full brunette I gave her full control over the color.....and it was PERFECT. I do not think I had ever been so happy and in love with my hair. Not only is she fabulous with color, but she has been great with my cuts too. I have very long, naturally straight, very thin hair (but a lot of it). With the length it is it is hard to keep looking healthy. She knows exactly what to do to make it look full and healthy. Also, she is very honest and lets me know what cuts will look good and not-so-good on me (she has def saved me a few times from a few bad ideas I've had). She would never let anyone walk out of the shop with hair that was anything less than perfect. Also, an entire bridal party and I (about 15 people total) saw her the day of the wedding (and prior wedding functions) to get our hair done. Everyone's hair was done wonderfully and in record time! (I was not very surprised though, shes AMAZING). She even found a way to incorporate my hair wraps (some ive had longer than ive known her) into the up-do (which i thought might have been iffy, a few girls before Lisa tried to get me to cut them out). Bottom line is.....She is the best. Ive always gotten compliments on my hair thanks to her. I recently moved to Austin and I will definitely be making trips to see her when I can. She is all about the customer and will make sure you walk out looking amazing and beautiful.

Lisa Perry does amazing hair, she's done my hair for 15+ years!! She can pretty much do it all - cut, color, facial waxing. Lisa Perry will listen to what you want, but is also upfront & honest about what works best for your hair type. She's been doing hair for many, many years so she knows her stuff! Always a fun atmosphere, I highly suggest checking her out!
